Sunday Sweats at the Convent
DESCRIPCION
To sweat is to pray, to make an offering of your innermost self. Sweat is holy water, prayer beads, pearls of liquid that release your past. Sweat is an ancient and universal form of self healing, whether done in the gym, the sauna, or the sweat lodge. I do it on the dance floor. The more you dance, the more you sweat. The more you sweat, the more you pray. The more you pray, the closer you come to ecstasy.
Gabrielle Roth, Sweat Your Prayers
Sunday Sweats are music-only, un-facilitated, 2 x 1 hour 5Rhythms Waves – the second often with a deeper intention or ‘theme’. It helps to have been to a 5Rhythms class before but it’s not essential.
Moving Essence teachers David Juriansz and Meredith Davies share these monthly dance mornings with Madhuma Thompson from RealRhythms. The Abbotsford Convent is a charismatic historic venue, with plenty of eating venues and picnic spots among the Convent grounds. Rosina Auditorium is a large, light venue close to grassy lawns and a shady courtyard. Children are welcome to this class if supervised.
