The sensations that comprise movement and breath exist in the present moment, the only moment that exists. The human mind constructs time as a useful dualistic function but all too often it gets lost in this construction. The thinking mind simply cannot access this presence (until it is surrendered into it) because this presence is not dualistic; it is not an object and cannot be located in time and space. So in order to ground us into the real truth of our being and experience the peace and clarity that comes with this homecoming, we turn away from our mental constructs and look instead to the moving body and the breathing breath. In Gabrielle Roth's 5Rhythms® we practice this meditation as an intuitive dance; a dance that we surrender our constructed identity to until it claims us as its own. We practice this dance with ourselves, with another, and with the group, and through the practice we develop a deeper, easier and more fluid relationship with ourselves, with others and with the world. We become more spontaneous and alive. We gradually and safely release the tensions and protection mechanisms that we have built to serve our false belief in our separation. We learn to trust ourselves more. We open up to new ways of being in the world.These classes are suitable for both beginners and experienced dancers of the 5Rhythms®. The classes are open, for you to attend when you like. Please bring water to drink and clothes that allow freedom of movement. Bare feet or dancing shoes are best.
