Dance is the most universal form of natural ecstasy.Everywhere on earth, in all tribal communities, cultures and religious cults, dance is not only a potent means to enhance vitality and joy of life incelebration of community, but also a path for individual and collectivehealing.
In our western societies, however, based on our being cutoff from our bodies and the extreme isolation of the individual, we suffer froma painful lack of positive forms of ecstasy and trance. Therefore, some kind oftrance experience is a prerequisite for sanity and physical health.
In this workshop we will explore ecstasy, easily accessiblein free dance. By watching a documentary on Friday night about how people inother cultures and traditions deal with it, we compare our own experiences withthose in the film, and learn more and more how to completely surrender tothe dance.
