In this one-day workshop, we investigate the layer underneath addiction. We bring attention and curiosity to feelings, thought-patterns and unconscious behaviors in order to tangibly create space before the addiction, or compulsion grips. 

A special and specific combination of 5Rhythms® dance, exercises and sharing give us tools for this inquiry. Together, we will have an opportunity to express ourselves freely, to be seen without shame or judgement, and receive some practical tools for our daily life.  

In this setting, you will be part of a supportive community with the opportunity for one-to-one sessions after the workshop, too. 

This workshop is open to anyone curious about addictive, compulsive tendencies for the first time as well as those who are very familiar with how it plays in their lives.

Addiction is any compulsive or uncontrollable habit that we engage in to escape our feelings, or our reality. For many, addiction is progressive and may seem controlled and beneficial until a line is crossed and helplessness, despair follow. 

Drugs or work. Social media or booze. Nicotine or sex. Netflix. Money. Love. Control. Power. Email. Orgasms. Adrenaline...our unique flavors of escape are endless. Whatever your unique flavor of addiction or dependency is welcome to be explored here.

————— ABOUT THE FACILITATORS ————— 

The workshop is co-facilitated by Samar and Lisa, who each have personal journeys with addiction and have led addiction-free lives since their 20’s. Samar and Lisa draw from their personal recovery, deeply supportive friendship and rich professional disciplines to bring you this dynamic, spacious and profoundly immersive workshop. 

Some words by Samar: 

I am a certified 5Rhythms® teacher and integrative mind-body coach with both professional and personal experience with addiction. I discovered freedom from addiction through passionate self-expression in dance coupled with grounded practical exercises, supportive communities, and practical tools. Today, I offer workshops, classes and one-to-one sessions that support healing through movement, exercises and practical daily life tools. My companions are my raw attitude and vulnerability as I offer creative and safe environments to hold you in your journey. 

After recovering from a life entrenched in addictions and secretly feeling never good enough, I am now wide awake and curious, high on the adventure of of living deeply from the heart. I am passionate about self-responsibility and discovering our human potential through a wholehearted embodied approach. So, during my professional time I am a certified life, addiction and relationship coach, hypnotherapist and transpersonal counsellor, with a Masters in Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology. Other training includes, trauma, inner child/ family of origin healing, addiction recovery and living sober; reiki and Transcendental  Meditation. I currently offer one-to-one sessions and workshops.
