The Avalon Wheel begins to turn. Following 3 years of visioning with renowned Mythologist & local Glastonbury tour guide Tor Webster, our vision of combining Sacred Storytelling with 5Rhythms Dance is born. We will spend 5 days together in & around the elemental setting of Francis's exquisite retreat centre Sambogaya (the yellow building in the photo!) transforming our relationship to our selves & rediscovering the intimacy of our innate connection to our sacred home the Earth.Through Dance & Listening, our intention will be to reawaken the connection to our personal & collective vitality & wonder, to discover our own mythological & archetypal story that hides in our blood & bones. We will find our Dance, our utterly unique ever changing soul expression & we will learn to let it pour from our body as an offering to this Earth that holds us & the invisible ashes of our endless ancestry. Some of us will wonder how we ever managed to forget our sense of belonging!
In between our listening & movement adventures on the Land, we will soak up the sanctitude of sweet Sambogaya, soaking in the Spring Water hot tub, shedding skins in the sauna & enjoying the ice bath if that's your thing! In the evenings we'll enjoy fireside conversations, watch inspiring film in our very own Sambogaya Cinema & enjoy delicious home cooked meals together.
Sambogaya is situated along the Michael Ley Line at the base of Chalice Hill in a quiet cul-de-sac at the bridge between Glastonbury town centre & the walkway to the Tor. The High Street is just a 5 minute walk away, with Chalice Well Gardens, the White Spring, the Abbey & the beautiful St Margaret's Chapel also close by. The wondrous Glastonbury Tor is a 20 minute walk.
We will move at these sites & other more secret ones, and rather than being tourists on the land, separate from it, we will let our moving bodies recall & express our union with it; a recognition that will be mirrored to us in the stories that we will hear as we dance. We will breathe this remembrance of our belonging into our blood & bones, allowing our personal & collective wound of separation to dissolve into the Dance of the One.
