Deep Dive Oakland is offering this workshop in response to the pervasive and overwhelming sexual misconduct/harassment cases sweeping the nation, the all too familiar #MeToo movement and continued violence against women happening all over the world. In addition to this workshop, we are also dedicating our weekly practice in February to Exploring Healthy Boundaries ~ A 5Rhythms Inquiry in an effort to raise awareness about this despairing reality.

During this workshop, Sayrah will offer experiential practices and self inquiry designed to guide you deeper into your personal experience of boundaries. Exercises will build upon themselves to encourage the dancer to confidently and clearly embody healthy boundaries that will ultimately serve not only the dancer, but the community as well.

Sayrah draws from over a decade of experience as a Clinical Social Worker with trainings in Yoga, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and Mindfulness Based Stressed Reduction (MBSR) to name a few. She has worked extensively with at risk youth, adults with co-occurring disorders (substance use & mental health issues), individuals with severe mental illness (psychosis) and other marginalized populations.
