Description:
5rhythms is a dance meditation practice, designed to allow us explore our unique ways of relating to life’s energies.
In Flowing we will meet earth’s energy and our roots, searching for the possibility of receptivity and trust. Staccato can teach us about action, clarity and how do we meet the world. Chaos will provide an opportunity to let go, and lead us naturally into Lyrical, the energy of lightness and creativity, luring us to expand to unknown territories. Ending with Stillness that will provide a field to simply be.
As we dance through the five rhythms it becomes effortless to recognize our patterns, our ways of relating and meeting those energies on the dance floor and in our lives.
“The body doesn’t lie” (Gabrielle Roth) - our bodies don’t have an image to maintain and therefore can reveal and guide us to the gateways of our full aliveness.
In this workshop, we will explore the edges of our meetings with the world. Are we active? Inactive? Do we wait for others to lead ? Are we gentle and carful or do we get easily tense? which meetings are safe, and which are challenging ? Do we know how to listen to our heart, or do we override its whispers? Can we be passionate and clear, or do we fall into aggression?
“None of us is perfect”, “all of us can learn” is the clear massage of the rhythms. As long as those understandings guide us through the dance, we will provide change, the best conditions to accrue.
Meeting of hearts has powerful energy, come explore with us.
No experience needed, just come as you are, with comfortable close and a bottle of water.
