" Do you have the discipline to be a free spirit " - Gabrielle Roth

Come be moved through Gabrielle Roth's 5Rhythms Waves map - a dynamic movement practice in Southampton. The 5Rhythms- flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness. This is where ecstatic dance and meditation meets the dance floor. There are no steps to learn, no right our wrong moves to master. No experience is needed. The class is guided.

It is a great way to let ourselves move, with whatever is needing to move. We hold a lot in our bodies, whether we realise it or not: stress, anxiety, different emotions. When we move our bodies, we release, what needs to move, letting some of those layers dissolve go, that no longer serve us.

We are fortunate to be guided and taught by two wonderful teachers throughout the year - Ruth Hirst and James Hogan. Both are experienced teachers and travel from London and Surrey to be with us. Ruth and James, are teaching alternate months.

VENUE:

St Barnabas Church Hall, (aka Tracie's Latin Club), Lodge Rd, Southampton, SO14 6QS. (free parking)

Time: 4.00pm - 6.00pm. Doors open @ 3.45pm. Doors close @ 4.15pm. 

(Won't be turned away if after this time! And makes a difference when we all start off together! Enables Angharad and Damian to begin their dances, sooner rather than later!)

Moving forward in 2024, the classes happen on the second Saturday of each month. Save the dates. 

This class is a shared collaboration with James Hogan and myself, Ruth Hirst. We will each take it in turn to come and teach @ 5Rhythms Southampton. 

Classes are monthly and always held on the 2nd Saturday of every month, except in June, when there will be NO class.
