― Black Elk, Lakota tribe
Meeting again, finding again the simple joy in being with others, listening again to each other, learning from each other, lifting up each other. Every year these One Tribe gatherings give space for meetings. Giving space to being in the presence of each other honestly, genuinely, openly, comfortably. Giving space to dissolving into one big dance, without losing our uniqueness, bringing all our different beautiful colors with us to create one big symphony.
Our recent past forcefully drew our attention to the importance of meetings, gatherings. More things changed in our communities and societies in one year, than in a decade before. And that may have been a huge burden for some of us. It was a burden for me sometimes, that one I know. That’s why it’s even more important than before to be able to share our joys and our burdens. As we share the burdens, they are getting lighter. As we share our joys, they multiply.
We hope that this tenth One Tribe will bring us deep experiences, initiates much needed changes and sow the seeds of long lasting connections, just like the earlier throughout this decade.
