Are you in love with your body? Or is it more complicated than that?
In this one day workshop we will go deeper into the Waves map of the 5Rhythms to explore our relationships with our physical bodies and to the dancers around us. Moving alone, in pairs and in small groups, we will dance Flowing, grounded in the feet; Staccato, grounded in the hips; Chaos, letting go of the head; Lyrical, where the dance extends out through the hands into the wider space; Stillness, where we don’t stop moving but we’re moved by the breath. We’ll explore the body parts we use to dance and those we carry along with us; we’ll examine how 5Rhythms exercises including simple repetition and group movements can help us feel truly embodied and present. This is not an intellectual practice; there will be lots of time to dance to the music and enjoy the feelings that arise, and we’ll have time for sharing and silence as well.
The normal price for the Saturday workshop includes an evening meal and evening live music with Brighton Kirtan.
However lunch is not included: please bring food for yourself and optionally to share, for lunchtime.
THIS WORKSHOP COUNTS AS ONE DAY TOWARDS THE PRE-REQUISITES FOR THE 5RHYTHMS TEACHER TRAINING.
