Dancing the Heartbeat map of the 5Rhythms is an opportunity to creatively explore the embodiment of the different layers. By moving with our emotional bodies rather than denying, resisting or pushing them down, we physically experience our feelings rather than think them. Holding on is exhausting....Letting go is full of possibilities. By surrendering our bodies to the dance, we release what is being held in our hearts, discover that path from the outside going inside.
As soon as we are in, as soon as contact can be made with that deeper layer of the heart, transformation takes place on the way to healing. Other words you can give to the deeper heart layer are: core, nature, God, Buddha nature, Soul, being. It takes courage, willingness, perseverance and loyalty to yourself to take this path of development.
We will work with the Heartbeat map of the 5Rhythms: fear, anger, sadness, joy and compassion. In Heartbeat, we explore our emotions in motion, as energy, as part of being human. Old feelings that have been locked in our limbs or caged in our chest begin to shake loose. We get comfortable with our feelings, neither hanging on to them nor pushing them away.
5 Rhythms Dance is a dynamic movement meditation designed to release the creative dancer that lives within each of us. The 5 rhythms are: flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness. Together they form a 'Wave' of movement and energy through which we are able to find our-self at our most fluid and creative. This dance is catalytic - a medicine for our soul - gently loosening our patterns of self-limitation.
