What is a 5Rhythms® class with Nima like?
I hold my classes in a loving, warm, grounded, and human-centered space. My emphasis on safety, choice, and sincerity helps people feel supported to show up exactly as they are.
In my classes, you can expect:
A carefully curated musical journey that holds both intensity and tenderness
Minimal instruction, allowing the body’s intelligence to lead
A non-judgmental, welcoming atmosphere for beginners and experienced dancers alike
Space for personal exploration and relational awareness
An invitation to listen—to the body, the room, and the moment
Many people describe the experience as grounding, freeing, and quietly transformative, where movement becomes a practice of honesty, resilience, and connection. I move with my students during the class, in love.
Foundational practice
Focuses on the core 5Rhythms map: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. These rhythms form the essential vocabulary of the practice.
Open to all levels
No prior dance or 5Rhythms experience is required. Beginners and experienced movers practice together.
Movement-based meditation
Participants move continuously with music, using breath, sweat, and sensation as anchors for presence and awareness.
Non-choreographed and self-directed
There are no steps to follow. Each person moves in their own way, at their own pace, guided by the music and the rhythm being explored.
Minimal verbal instruction
Teaching is primarily through music and rhythm rather than extended talk or analysis.
Trauma-aware and choice-based
Participants are always invited—not required—to engage. Listening to one’s body and honoring personal boundaries is central.
Counts toward teacher training
Waves classes are the entry-level requirement for those pursuing formal 5Rhythms teacher training, though most participants attend purely for personal practice.
In practical terms:
A Waves class is a structured yet spacious environment to move, regulate the nervous system, express emotion, build resilience, and connect—without performance, judgment, or expectation.
