Dance entered my life in 2019 at exactly the right moment: new motherhood, a pandemic approaching, and a nervous system doing its best impression of organized chaos. On that first Wave, it felt as if a gate inside me opened. I released more on that floor than I had ever been able to before and connected with a part of myself I didn’t know existed. The body slowly became a place of expression, truth, and possibility.
Before that, my life had been shaped by years of movement of a different kind — living and working across countries and continents as a psychologist, facilitator, and trainer, exploring how people, communities, and environments change and adapt. Yet I often lived in the shadow side of Lyrical: constantly in motion, engaged and curious, but disconnected from roots.
Through 5Rhythms I’ve learned to find home within myself and my flow. My years of dancing have been the longest I’ve lived in one country as an adult. When the urge to escape comes, I dance.
This practice has deeply reshaped both my personal life and my work, guiding me toward more embodied and nature-based approaches to wellbeing. As a teacher, I hope to help grow the 5Rhythms community in Portugal and create spaces where people can reconnect with their bodies and discover their own freedom through movement.
