“The world has never been more connected, yet people are lonelier than ever. Whether we feel unworthy, alienated, or anxious about our place in the world – the absence of belonging is the great silent wound of our times.” – Toko-pa Turner, from her book “Belonging”
We all long to belong. A sense of belonging is fundamental to our emotional health and well-being. Is it possible to uncover a deeply rooted sense of Belonging when we give ourselves the space to lean into these feelings of disconnect and alienation? Where and when do feelings of Belonging arise? Why are so many of us struggling to find our place in the world?
The 5Rhythms® Heartbeat™ map is rich and fertile ground for exploring these questions and the many aspects of our hearts that are present when we dive into the field of Belonging. Can we learn to be with and express our feelings of fear, anger, and grief that surface when we feel excluded, isolated, or alone? Can we accept and integrate our feelings of joy and compassion that are present when we feel connected to ourselves and our community? How can our hearts grow and expand if we land in a deeply embodied sense of Belonging?
The container we co-create in this workshop will become the sacred ground for this work, allowing for vulnerability, expansion, growth, and pain to be witnessed, released, held, and valued in a safe, nurturing way. I invite you to meet me on the dance floor with your curiosity for exploring the field of ‘Belonging’.
