The heart is essential to our life, pumping oxygenated blood throughout our body. But it’s also the place where we experience many of our feelings. A quickening heartbeat when we see our loved one after a long separation, to a painful pause when we hear bad news. There is an intimate connection between the physical sensations of our body and the emotions that arise in response to the world.

In this weekend we take time to explore these physical sensations and we move with our core emotions fear, angner, sadness, joy and compassion. How do our feelings move us and how do they influence our behaviour? What does it mean to be open hearted? We use the 5Rhythms Waves® and Heartbeat® maps. A dynamic movement practice that liberates body, heart, mind and soul.

You don't need to be a dancer to take part. Being human is enough!

In Heartbeat we explore our emotions as energy, as power, as part of being human. Old feelings that have been locked in our limbs or caged in our chest begin to shake loose. We get comfortable with feelings, neither hanging onto them nor pushing them away.
