Our body has an incredible intelligence. Part of the functions involved for life are regulated without our intervention. For instance the blood circulation and digestive system are directed by the autonomous nervous system. Our brain is most likely the most complex structure in the universe. It holds a trinity with the neo-cortex, limbic- and reptilian brain. All parts have different functions.

When we move our bodies with consciousness, we rebalance the interaction with our brain. We become more sensitive to our body sensations, we start to feel our emotions and we interrupt the continuous chattering in our heads. We become whole, powerful and vulnerable. 5Rhythms is a movement and meditation practice that incorporates many of our life experiences redefined to the simplicity of five different ways of moving. The 5Rhythms are flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness.

This workshop is for you if you are interested to take full advantage of your bodies’ intelligence, strength and vulnerability. During the weekend we use movement in a way that it acts like a medicine. We might find new resources and increase our resilience . Everybody can take part, no matter your age and ability to move or dance. Ron Hagendoorn is an accredited 5Rhythms teacher and a certified trauma therapist (Somatic Experiencing®).
