5Rhythms movement meditation practice
for over 60's
Wednesdays, 2.30 - 3.30 London Time
Arrival in the Zoom Room from 2.15 class starts at 2.30pm - please be punctual!
A movement class for older dancers - this class is for the over 60's but any age is welcome to join us if you feel called. We use the 5Rhythms as a simple movement and rhythm practice designed to release the dancer that lives in each of us regardless of our age or physical ability. We move to great music with no steps or choreography to learn. No prior experience is needed as there is no one way to dance these rhythms - there is only your way.

Due to the financial challenges that many of us are experiencing at this time, please either pay one of the sliding scale tickets or a donation (amount of your choosing) or a no-cost option, so that the opportunity to dance remains open to you regardless of how your financial circumstances may have been impacted.

Nikki Ashley has been dancing & studying the 5Rhythms for 12 years. She trained to teach in 2014 with Jonathan Horan, son of Gabrielle Roth. Nikki comes from a background in theatre; traditional, educational and participatory. Nikki has worked with dancingTao for 10 years, helping Christian to form the collective , she also works with women, elders and regular groups and is a mentor to 5Rhythms teachers in training.
dancingTao is a collective of dancers, facilitators, artists and other agents of change. We are committed to bringing movement practice into support of growth for individuals, communities and the world field. We operate as a CIC (Community Interest Company) and we seek to welcome all dancers and 'non-dancers' into movement.

~ danced in sequence they create a wave, a moving meditation journey from one state of being to another.
PLEASE NOTE: You are responsible for setting up your own safe dancing space, and for holding your own physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual wellbeing!
Make sure you have your doctors approval to dance the 5Rhythms :-)
Make sure you have as much room to move as possible and its safe for you
Have a jug of water to hand
Set up anything else you would like to, nice lighting, a candle
Switch off you mobile (if you are not using it for the class), television etc and any other distractions
Give yourself plenty of time to arrive and get the technicals sorted
Please arrive on time and stay until the end of the session
Move at your own pace and in ways that suit your own body.
Look after yourself, anyone else in the room, and the environment you are in.
