This is the 3rd annual KIX Retreat. Each year, we immerse ourselves in a central theme on the subject of addiction* & recovery with a variety of mind-body-feeling tools .

KIX Retreat Theme (2024)

In some ways, to stop an addiction would mean to go through an ending of sorts. It is not often that this connection (to endings or grief) is made, nor is it often that we map a potential trajectory through these endings informed by both the personal and a broader perspective.

Letting go {enter your own word here e.g. quitting, giving up ….} of addiction happens in stages. Yes, there is the first stage of stopping the addiction, and along with that there are feelings, doubts, questions, too.

Sometimes when we rub up against a different stage of the (grieving) process, it’s confusing or painful or angering or numbing. Unfortunately, this can be where a relapse happens or a new addiction emerges. Or, perhaps, we haven’t even stopped because the abstract process seems all-too-daunting, too-complex or too-much-to-give-up.

Therefore, this year’s retreat is dedicated to exactly this. Understanding – with the brain, feeling with the heart, sensing with the body – your own unique process out of addiction informed by a recovery framework of letting go.

The KIX Retreat is an immersive, confidential, and intimate setting with a smaller group to allow you to move through this inquiry with gentleness, safety and courage.

KIX Retreat Overview

This 4-day / 3-night retreat allows us the time and space to investigate themes related to addiction or compulsions and how to cultivate tools to reclaim ourselves out of addictive or compulsions behaviors.

The Seminarhof Drawehn is a beautiful venue that holds us so well for these retreats. We are surrounded by nature, fed delicious and nourishing vegetarian meals with produce from their garden. There is also a sauna for the cold November evenings to integrate.
