DESCRIPTION

A weekly 5Rhythms class for people living with Alzheimer's and other dementia related conditions. Produced in partnership wth the Stein Center in New York City, the class is now in its 6th year, and amazingly enough, many of the original dancers are still with us and going strong! And now there is scientific support for this anecdotal evidence - the New England Journal of Medicine, in conjunction with the Albert Einstein school of Medicine, have deterimined that " the only physical activity to offer protection against dementia was frequent dancing." Here's Stanford University's synopsis of the study, if you'd like to read a little deeper.

NOTES

The class itself is a closed group -- if you or someone you know is suffering from Dementia and you'd like to discuss participating, please contact me.

We do welcome interested guests to come and dance with us! Class is free, but we ask that you send us an email letting us know when you'd like to join us!
