Rituals of Rhythm
DESCRIPTION
Re-connecting ourselves through drumming, movement and voice
Part of Creativity & Wellbeing Week 2025
Join us for an uplifting evening of rhythm, connection and self-expression at Rituals of Rhythm, a free event inviting you to explore the powerful relationship between body, breath and beat. Through guided drumming, intuitive movement and simple vocal improvisation, this session offers a joyful and accessible space to reconnect—with yourself, with others, and with the healing power of rhythm.
Held at the welcoming Open Source Arts space in Leeds, this unique session is open to everyone—no music or dance experience needed. Whether you bring your own drum or simply come with curiosity, you’ll be encouraged to engage with the beat in whatever way feels right for you.
This creative gathering is more than just a fun evening—it’s a practice in wellbeing. Drumming can support emotional release, reduce stress, improve coordination, and boost mood. Movement and vocalisation help us release tension, ground ourselves in the present moment, and experience the joy of shared expression. Together, these practices form a powerful ritual for emotional, mental and physical health.
The session will be held by Ben Deutsch, an accredited 5Rhythms® movement teacher, with almost 10 years experience of running supportive and engaging group sessions.
Come as you are, move as you feel, and leave feeling more connected, uplifted, and energised.
