**Simply Being 5Rhythms New Moon Eclipse Garden Special 2026 🌑☀️🌅**This may be one of the most unusual and magical garden sessions we have ever offered.

On Wednesday 12 August 2026, a major 90%+ solar eclipse will pass over London in the early evening. If the skies are clear, the garden should move into a strange dusk-like dimming as the eclipse reaches its peak, before the light begins to return: a kind of second sunrise, followed not long after by the actual summer sunset.
So this session is an invitation to dance through a rare double sunset: eclipse, returning light, and then the evening descent into sunset.
To dance 5Rhythms outside while this is happening feels very special: a rare chance to let the body move through eclipse, return of light, sunset, and the living field of the garden.

We’ll be dancing 5Rhythms in nature in the heart of Brixton, in a private garden space amongst trees and flowers.
We’ll move with each other, with the trees and plants, and with the changing eclipse light and summer sunset, in a garden that’s been under cultivation for almost two centuries.
This special New Moon Eclipse garden session is an invitation to align ourselves with the creative and healing forces of nature, co-creating together in movement as we dance through eclipse, returning light and sunset.
Booking in advance is essential.
The garden sessions this season stand fully in their own right, and they also open a path towards **Healing Ground**, our Sicily retreat in September: six days to deepen this same conversation with the elements.

5Rhythms can be experienced by anyone, regardless of physical limitations. There are no specific moves to learn, and dancers can participate at their own pace, within their own capacity to move.
Beginners are welcome.

We will be using special silent disco headphones to receive the music and the facilitation, which we will provide for each dancer.
Arrival from 6.30pm for a 7pm start
We will finish around 9pm
Please arrive on time. Doors closed at 7pm & there will be no admittance after then.
The solar eclipse begins at around 6.17pm, reaches its maximum at around 7.13pm, and ends around 8.06pm.
We will gather and begin as the eclipse is moving towards its peak. Around 7.13pm the garden should enter its deepest eclipse light, a strange dusk-like dimming. From there, the light begins to return: a kind of second sunrise, before the actual summer sunset later in the evening.
Please do not look directly at the Sun during the eclipse unless you are using proper certified solar eclipse glasses marked ISO 12312-2. Ordinary sunglasses are not safe for eclipse viewing.
We will dance in a private space which includes toilet facilities.
This is a weather dependent event! If it rains you will be offered a credit for a future dance, either a garden session or a weekly Friday class. All credits need to be used before the end of the calendar year.
The cost for these unique sessions is a little higher than usual. The money goes towards venue hire, itself a community project, the silent disco equipment, as well as a 10% contribution to our community interest company which supports our reach out work. For these reasons we don't give refunds, however dancers are permitted to sell or gift their ticket if they cannot attend, and we do offer ticket transfers up to 48 hours before the event.
