“Treasure. Investigating the moving body as we make our way through the waves, what richness does each rhythm reveal?
We turn over the earth to find our roots, perhaps finding a spark of connection beyond ourselves. We move into the waters of chaos, dissolving, rearranging, then emerging in lyrical, set free and perhaps inspired. Stillness might offer us a tincture of peace to fortify the spirit and bless us with a feeling of connection to all things.
These are my words but what will your travels reveal?
What treasures live in the map of your body?
Looking forward to returning to South London with a backpack filled with music and poetry.”
ABOUT LIZ
I'm an artist/dj/cleaner/mother/friend/restless spirit.
I am grateful for this practice that holds us together as we fall apart, over and over and over.
I value tenderness, humour and time to create.
I find all this and more when moving through the waves of our practice, on and off the dance floor.
I'll be travelling from my rural home in the north of Yorkshire, bringing the wide open skies and empty space of the moorlands as my offering to us all for our dances of gratitude, celebration and appreciation.
I am delighted to be invited and I look forward to being with all the different shapes of you.
ABOUT THE 5RHYTHMS
Created by Gabrielle Roth and practiced by tens of thousands worldwide, 5Rhythms is a philosophy, perspective, performance art and a dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself. Movement is both the medicine and the metaphor, reaching across all languages, cultures and age groups to transform suffering into art, art into awareness, and awareness into action. Wherever the 5Rhythms are practiced, a community is born to dance, to sweat, to change, to support, and to provide a safe space for each of us to shatter the ego’s hold and awaken the juicy, unpredictable, fascinating, edge-walking, rock star part of ourselves that yearns to be free.
Creativity. Connection. Community.
