The classes will focus on resilience, on finding the things that support our well-being and keep us moving forward, on a daily, weekly, monthly, and long-term basis.
We will dance a 5Rhythms wave every class, where we will experience the map developed by Gabrielle Roth, the founder of the 5Rhythms: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness. In so doing, we will maintain a connection with our grounded and embodied selves.
This is a bi-weekly Sunday class, that alternates with a bi-weekly Saturday Class. You are welcome and invited to attend whenever it is convenient for you.
Registration will be open until 10am on the day of each class. Registration will be capped at 20 dancers. Drop-in dancers will not be admitted to ensure that we do not exceed our class-size and so that class agreements are understood ahead of time

*please note - the Feb. 12th class only, will be from 2:30pm-4:30pm.
Please attend when it is convenient for you. You can register up to 10 am on the day of each class, or until we reach capacity.
ARRIVAL TIME FOR CLASS:
*Please arrive 5-10 minutes before class to change. Washrooms/Changerooms are located outside of the studio. You can also arrive early to socialize and have a tea or juice in the Society Clubhouse common area if you like
Music will be provided at the beginning of class, for a self-guided 20-25 min warm-up. Please give yourself the gift and time to experience this part of class. When I think back to my many years in classes, arriving was one of the most memorable parts of class, when I became present to myself, and grounded in my body.
The warm-up will be followed by a brief opening circle and then a 5Rhythms wave, that will last approximately 1hr, 15 min. We will have a brief closing circle after the wave
*Tiered pricing is available so that those of us with more can share, and those of us who could use some support can receive it. When you register at the Supporter rate, a portion of your registration fee is applied toward another dancer's reduced-rate spot. If a lower price will make the classes accessible for you, please register at the 'Supported' rate. If you know you want to dance regularly, and these prices are a barrier for you, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for a possible partial scholarship or work-exchange.
CREW (WORK-EXCHANGE) SPOTS:
I am seeking people who wish to participate as class crew, for a work-exchange for classes. This role involves arriving 15 minutes early, helping to set-up, greeting people as they are coming in, and staying for 15 minutes after class, to help put things away. During the class, you are a dancer like everyone else, with no crew responsibilities. The work-exchange is free admission to class on the date(s) that you help out. You must make a commitment to the class date(s) that you sign-up for, or find a replacement among other crew members. Please indicate your interest on the form below.
Please read the following carefully, to understand our COVID-19 protocols for this class.
Capacity limit (registration capped at 20 dancers)
Rapid antigen testing pre-class
Masks optional in studio and in common areas
Contact tracing (name and phone number of every participant)
TEST AT HOME: To attend this class, we are asking that you take a COVID-19 rapid test at home in the 2 hrs prior to coming. You can obtain a free test kit from your local drugstore. Upon arriving you will sign a sheet saying that you have tested at home. If you have not tested at home we will give you a test and you can find a spot to test yourself on site.
THROAT, CHEEK and NOSTRILS: We ask that all testers swab throat, cheeks, and nostrils as this has been proven as the best way to test for the Omicron COVID variant.
MASKING: Masking is optional in studio and in the common areas of the building.
AIR FILTER: At Society Clubhouse, there are ceiling fans.
While no layer of protection is perfect, the above measures work better together than they do alone. If you choose to attend this indoor class, you acknowledge that though we are taking precautions, there is still a risk of contracting COVID-19 as a result of attending, and you are assuming full responsibility for your choice to attend, and any illnesses or injuries that may result.
If there are any COVID policy changes, they will be communicated to the class at least one week prior to the class.
