I never realized dancing in a room together with other people was something I was taking for granted. Looking back, it’s screamingly ironic that the upheaval 5Rhythms practice predicted rhythmically in the dance was an upheaval that no one, teacher nor producer nor student, was actually prepared for logistically.TAGS: 5Rhythms, 5Rhythms Teachers Association, azul, Conscious Dance, covid, dancing, dancing with Illness, Dancing with My Space, event planning, jonathan horan, mitochondria, Morgan Berk, Morgan Rae Berk, movement medicine, Open floor, Richard Wiltshire
Never in my 25 years of dancing have I experienced the power of 5Rhythms so deeply as I did this year.
Yes, dancing with Gabrielle was like time travel and super magical and changed my whole life.
But this year, more than ever, 5Rhythms proved itself as a practical life elixir for many. Even for people who don’t really have anything to do with dancing.TAGS: 5Rhythms, 5Rhythms Teachers Association, 5RTA, Jup Jansonius, katya verbugg
Listening is a vehicle for true connection and feeling connected is the source for all healing. How do we reinvent connection when we find ourselves unexpectedly on the edge of the unknown? Isolated in realities stretched across landscapes of our own skin wondering how to begin again?TAGS: 5Rhythms, 5Rhythms Teachers Association, 5RTA, faces, Katarzyna Pugoswka, listening, Lorca Simons, meditation, ondemand, online, united kingdom
Embodied into a family of passionate dancers and artisans, my journey on this earth began on Rose Monday (the highest carnival holiday in my area). They put a funny hat on my head & shoved me through the hallway, while outside colourful street-parades took part. I was born into art in motion.TAGS: 5 rhythms, 5Rhythms OneTribe, 5Rhythms Teacher Association, 5Rhythms Teachers Association, art therapy, Chaos, Christine reimer, Conscious Dance, dance movement therapy, ecstatic dance, five rhythms, gabrielle roth, germany, meditation, Movement Teacher Training, netherlands, Open floor, Rimke Pepers, shamanic dance, Sonja Hellman, sweat your prayers, The Moving Center, yoga
I discovered my love of dance when I moved to a foreign city alone at the age of 19. What I first discovered was ballroom dance and I was taught by tournament dancers: What do I want to express, how do I bring it from the inside out? What is the message and essence of the particular dances? I loved to explore this.TAGS: 5 rhythms, 5Rhythms OneTribe, 5Rhythms Teacher Association, 5Rhythms Teachers Association, Chaos, Christine reimer, Conscious Dance, dance movement therapy, ecstatic dance, five rhythms, gabrielle roth, meditation, Movement Teacher Training, Open floor, sarena wolfards, scotland, shamanic dance, sweat your prayers, The Moving Center, yoga
Growing up with Gabrielle, making music stood equally in our circle alongside making movement. When no song was long enough to deeply journey into the meditation, Gabrielle and Robert gathered musicians to create soundscapes to go deep into the rhythms, birthing Raven Recording, a new genre of music, and 20+ albums.TAGS: #danceanywhere, #danceeverywhere, 5Rhythms, 5Rhythms Teachers Association, 5RTA, Conscious Dance, dance, gabrielle roth, jonathan horan, meditation, movement medicine, online classesd, Open floor, raven recording, streams of consciousness, The Moving Center
