DESCRIPTION

Winter Solstice. The Stillpoint. The Turning Point. The Return of the light. Traditionally a time of reflection and celebration, a time for letting go of old baggage and setting intentions.

This dance is an opportunity to check in with our hearts.

What has moved through your heart in the last year? How has it moved you? What are you holding? What have you released? Is there work to be done?

How clear is your heart?

Together, through movement and ritual theatre, we will move with what has moved us. We will welcome it all; fear, anger, sadness, joy and compassion. When we ditch the baggage, when we clear the shadows of our head-trips, we find that every emotion is there to serve us. To warn us, to protect us, to free us, to open us and to connect us.

How do we clear it? How do we step into the coming year with a clearer heart? It's very simple: we dance. This is joyous work.

This is a Heartbeat® level 5Rhythms workshop. Minimum prerequisites are 30 hours of waves with an accredited teacher including at least one weekend workshop. Heartbeat experience is useful but not essential. Places are limited. Previous seasonal workshops in York have been fully booked so early booking is recommended.

11.00am-7.00pm Saturday December 22. York Priory Street Centre. YO1 6ET

Cost: £40 before December 8th, £50 after. £20 deposit secures your place. There are some concessionary places available on application.

NOTES

Deposits are non-refundable. Depending on circumstances, I may be able to carry them over to future events.

WORKSHOP LEVEL DETAILS

In Heartbeat we explore our emotions as energy, as power, as part of being human. Old feelings that have been locked in our limbs or caged in our chest begin to shake loose. We get comfortable with feelings, neither hanging onto them nor pushing them away.
