Like a piece of Swiss cheese we have many holes. During our lifetimes, our tendency is to hide and disown parts of ourselves. Sometimes we lose parts, give them away or they are take from us. We, as human beings have many aspects and qualities. This workshop is about to fill some holes in our piece of cheese, then, hopefully, we become whole again. To be whole means to be a flexible adventurer, a “mover” ready to meet challenges with engagement and curiosity. It means exploring our potential in motion. It means feeling a sense of connection to the whole of life, to other people, to the world around us in interconnection of the great web of life.
With the map of the 5 Rhythms and a combination of Gestalt and Ritual Theater, we will move through different kinds of expression. Gestalt approach invites us to seek our own missing selves and to re-integrate them through embodied awareness. One of the many aspects of Ritual Theater, is to enables us to inhabit many aspects of ourselves, in a grounded lively physicality. It’s to understand what it means to be human. 5 Rhythms, Gestalt, Ritual Theater come together as a ‘whole’ practice.
Open to all who are willing to breathe, move, practice, listen to, exercise, inspire each other, soften, open, and relax.
“When we dance, we wake up, we get down and juicy with ourselves, we have fun and forget all the heavy shit we carry around. In the dance we get real, get free, get over ourselves. Movement kicks ass.” Gabrielle Roth
