DESCRIPTION

"Between the head and feet of any given person is a billion miles of unexplored wilderness."
– Gabrielle Roth

The first time I stepped into a 5Rhythms class, I was struck by how free, safe, and creative the atmosphere felt. It was like entering a room where nothing had to be proven and everything was allowed to exist. Afterwards, the food tasted better — and something inside me had awakened.

Today, in the midst of work and family life, 5Rhythms is a lifeline — a place where I replenish my vitality and allow my nervous system to settle. From there, I can meet myself and the world with greater presence and flexibility.

If nothing else, it’s a fun and playful form of exercise. At its best, it’s a deep invitation back to the body’s innate intuition and intelligence — something that always proves useful, whether in the crush of a crowded bus, speaking in front of a group, or simply walking down the street.

About Emerging Waves

Emerging Waves is a space held by Anneli Radestad, 5Rhythms Teacher in Training.
In this 5Rhythm class, you are invited to move through the 5Rhythms with simple guidance, exploring body parts while giving space for your personal expression.
Music becomes the teacher alongside the trainee, supporting your movement practice through the Waves map of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness.
Rooted in the teachings of Gabrielle Roth, 5Rhythms® is practiced by tens of thousands of people around the world. It is a movement meditation, a creative path, and a philosophy grounded in the belief that when we move, we heal. Movement becomes both medicine and metaphor—opening space for personal insight and embodied presence.

This practice welcomes every body, every culture, every age, and every level of experience. Wherever the 5Rhythms are danced, a community forms—one that moves together, sweats together, grows together, and supports one another’s freedom and authenticity. Here we meet ourselves and each other with curiosity, kindness, and the courage to be real.

Creativity. Connection. Community.

For Those New to the 5Rhythms®

5Rhythms offers a simple, physical exploration of how the body moves and how movement can free expression:
Flowing — we arrive in our bodies, guided by the feet, learning to trust the ground beneath us.
Staccato — we give shape to our energy, finding clarity, direction, and the confidence to express ourselves physically.
Chaos — we let the body loosen and unwind, allowing movement to release tension and open space inside.
Lyrical — we lighten, lift, and rediscover the natural ease and creativity of the moving body.
Stillness — we soften into quiet motion, listening for what is present in breath, weight, and subtle shifts.

Together, these Rhythms invite us to:

Feel more grounded and connected to our physical body
Release held tension
Discovering new pathways of movement and expression
Increasing agility, ease, and body awareness
Meeting ourselves and others with curiosity

All bodies are welcome. All movement is welcome.

DANCING FOR THE FIRST TIME?

Bring light, comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely while dancing.
Most people dance barefoot, but you can also wear light and comfortable indoor shoes if you prefer.
Bring a water bottle so you can stay hydrated during the session.
If you have sensitive hearing, bring earplugs.
On the dance floor we do not speak with words, but with our bodies.
Listen inwardly and respect both your own boundaries and those of others.
We turn off our phones during the dance.
Bring a towel if you would like to shower afterward.
This is a drug- and alcohol-free event. ✨

Warm welcome!

Anneli
