ALEX “RAVEN SISTER” MACKAY
Alex trained with 5Rhythms founder Gabrielle Roth in New York in the 90s. Gabrielle called Alex “Raven Sister”. Alex teaches internationally and is known for bringing light and depth, a sense of wonder, and a lot of energy to dance with the group.
THE DANCE
The 5Rhythms are a map to everywhere we want to go - inner, outer, forward, back, physical, emotional, intellectual - they reconnect us to the wisdom of our bodies and unleash movement’s dynamic healing power.
5Rhythms transcends dance - movement is the medicine, the meditation and the metaphor. Together we peel back layers, lay our masks down, and dance till we disappear.
The 5Rhythms...
Flowing: fluid, supple, flexible, surrender.
Staccato: percussive, masculine, strong, boundaries.
Chaos: releasing, creative, intuitive, free.
Lyrical: rebirth, grounded, light, empowered.
Stillness: meditative, slow, wisdom, endings.
The fastest way to still the mind is to move the body. https://www.5rhythms.com
