I was born and raised in the Middle East, where I studied economics and business. Though I worked in the financial sector for many years, I began to realize that my real path lay in the pursuit of creativity. In 2013, I moved to my chosen home, New York City. While pursuing new career paths in cooking, interior design, and art collecting I began to struggle with depression. When I discovered 5Rhythms® in 2016, I realized that it offered a therapeutic path toward healing. I came to see that many people carry trauma, and dance offers endless possibilities for exploring our interiority and shifting our energies.
As my participation in 5Rhythms deepened, I came to understand that one of my life’s missions is to be in service to others. Through teaching 5Rhythms, I aim to help movers achieve self-betterment so that they may live up to their utmost potential.
I am a storyteller. I believe we speak through our bodies and that storytelling is a way for connections to develop. As we become more connected to our bodies, our sense of inner knowing builds a stronger muscle. This muscle—call it intuition—can help us navigate through life and connect to our environments. These connections create the foundation for our unity with people from different walks. I would like to facilitate the grounds for playfulness and joy on the dance floor. Joy is not a luxury, it is a necessity for our being in the world.
I am a Teacher-in-Training mentored by Irene Hernandez Sanchez (Spain) and Gina Espinosa (Spain).
