Lily Tomlin, Comedian
Overwork, overload, overwhelm. Trash, texting, tensing. Instagram, instant gratification, useless information. icloud, ikea, no idea. Compulsion, confusion, computer frozen. Modern life in a consumer society…
This workshop will explore the physicality of the 5Rhythms inviting in the mountain of clarity that staccato teaches and the shimmering reflection of stillness. You will invigorate your dance practice, reclaiming a depth of clarity that is always there, concealed behind clouds of mental chatter.
Through movement we will make space, show up for ourselves and practice setting clear boundaries. Soften into confusion and create with a lightness of spirit. Find our alignment on the dance floor, in the body. There is no emoji for presence.
The 5Rhythms® map is an extraordinary landscape for movement possibility that awakens our soul and shines a brilliant light on the simplicity of being. Every body is a unique communication. So let’s get clear. Together.
David Juriansz brings a wealth of experience as 5Rhythms dancer, facilitator, songwriter, musician and performer. His humour, storytelling, and passion for the embodiment of the 5Rhythms, engages both newcomers and long-term dancers, and his weekly 5Rhythms class regularly attracts over 100 people. David has taught internationally and with his wife Meredith Davies is the co-founder of Moving Essence.
Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms are taught all over the world and Moving Essence started the first weekly classes in Melbourne 20 years ago. Workshops offer a deeper experience of this life changing practice.
For the second time this year, we are thrilled to bring our work to Newcastle in collaboration with friend and fellow teacher Michelle Lampis who is the producer of this workshop.
