DESCRIPTION

"Fear does not stop death, it stops life"

-- Unkown

Both in our daily life as in our emotional life there might be parts of us that are in the grip of stress, tension and stagnation. There might be moments where we feel completely tense, unable to release as well as moments where the only thing we can do is collapse unable to cope with the challenges that life is providing for us. What we call freeze is in essence a nervous system reaction that blocks our vitality, aliveness and resilience. Luckily, or at least hopefully, we are not constantly in a state of freeze or collapse. But with the right trigger, either consciously or unconsciously, the flow in our body and heart can be inhibited.

In this heartbeat workshop we will work with all the different emotions in our 5Rhythms® map: fear, anger, sadness, joy, compassion. Through somatic movement we investigate how we can change our relationship to the emotions that we struggle with, we become curious how emotion, or energy in motion, can unblock our natural flow of life. We take steps to start to break free from the shackles of stagnation and rediscover our aliveness and vitality so that not only during our workshop but also afterwards the same triggers don't have to freeze us up anymore. Together we go on a journey to increase our capacity, our resilience and our flow in body, heart, mind, soul and spirit!

NOTES

WORKSHOP LEVEL DETAILS

In Heartbeat we explore our emotions as energy, as power, as part of being human. Old feelings that have been locked in our limbs or caged in our chest begin to shake loose. We get comfortable with feelings, neither hanging onto them nor pushing them away.
