DESCRIPTION

“Love is not a mood, but a dynamic way of being.” —Gabrielle Roth

Lucia Horan & Noah Levine

The spontaneous heart is one that knows how to love and be loved. This workshop is an invitation to explore how the body is shaped by emotions and gain skill in tracking when the heart is open and when it is closed.

Through the integration of the stillness of Buddhist mindfulness meditation with the moving meditations of the 5Rhythms, you will learn how to experience and express emotion in naturally healthy, creative ways.

Over the course of these five days, Lucia Horan, an internationally recognized teacher of 5Rhythms, will lead you in the Heartbeat map, a guide to moving through waves of emotional energy. Renowned Buddhist teacher, author, and counselor Noah Levine will guide you in profoundly supportive meditation and mindfulness practices for bringing wise attention and a compassionate heart to every aspect of your life.

You will learn to:

  • Navigate the emotional terrain of life without getting stuck, holding on, or pushing away
  • Embody the art of being a fluid emotional athlete through 5Rhythms
  • Increase your natural capacity for loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity Brahmavihara (heart practices)
  • Tap into the natural, powerful practices of movement and stillness as antidotes to negative mind states.

The polarities of movement and stillness mirror the larger dance of life. Come open your heart to a life of deep peace, well-being, and balance.

WORKSHOP LEVEL DETAILS

In Heartbeat we explore our emotions as energy, as power, as part of being human. Old feelings that have been locked in our limbs or caged in our chest begin to shake loose. We get comfortable with feelings, neither hanging onto them nor pushing them away.
