In 2019 5Rhythms for Women - a regular workshop is coming to Tasmania. We will begin by working with the stories from the book 'Women Who Run with the Wolves,' by Dr Clarissa Pinkola Estes. We will be working with one archetypal feminine story at a time - and using it as our basis for an embodied inquiry and dance. Running with Wolves - Women's 5Rhythms - offers us a monthly ritual to honour ourselves, and our sisters. (There will be an open class on the following Sunday morning, all welcome).
Just like the wolf, the female psyche has often been misunderstood, feared, and hunted to near extinction.
Only now is the feminine way of being returning to our awareness.
In this workshop we'll be reminded of our cyclic nature, of the ebbs and flows of our creativity and of our spiralling unfolding pathway of our lives. We’ll dance and move together, to embody and reconnect with our physicality and to witness and honour this with our sisters.
This is your invitation to track the movements and desires of your animal self, your deeper wisdom and to return to your fur-covered sensing self. This is your invitation to listen deeply. Do you hear the call?
We will dance the 5Rhythms wave, work with the story and our stories, embody the wave and the story with somatic exercises, work with authentic movement and have a cuppa. This workshop is open to all women - no experience with the stories, or with dance is necessary. Come join us and dive into this supportive, liberating and empowering creative experience.
(Sweat Your Prayers 5Rhythms Class - Sunday morning - 10.30-1pm - Special price for Wolves $20)
Natalie has woven new maps for women to dance through their lunar/menstrual energies; their birthing/creative energies; and their empowerment/archetypal life energies and life cycles. Through her studies with Alexandra Pope (The Red School), Rhea Dempsey (Birthing Wisdom) and working with the archetypal stories of Dr Clarissa Pinkola Estes (Women Who Run with the Wolves), Natalie has absorbed the current principles of female wisdom, and interlaced these with the simple, and yet potent and catalysing map of Gabrielle Roth's 5Rhythms dance. Together these new maps form a carefully curated, sensitively synthesised, and richly multi-layered tapestry that form the basis for Natalie's women's moving medicine work. Dancing through, and embodying these maps, nurtures our well-being, our creativity and expression, and re-connects us to our essence and life-force.
