The new millennium brought 2 life-changing gifts into my life. I started to practice 5Rhythms and began to deepen my professional development as a trauma therapist. Today, sixteen years later, I embody the synergy as a teacher and trainer on both paths.

Aside from the clinical path I love to teach the 5Rhythms as such: Especially to explore and play with the shamanic aspect of the 5Rhythms. My goal is to break things down to support students in finding their unique movement vocabulary within the structure of each rhythm. And I love to regularly Sweat My Prayers with the beautiful Vienna tribe on Sunday mornings.

The 5Rhythms transformed my life into a dance all over the planet. I have taught in Ghana, and give regularly workshops in Auroville (India), and Europe.

One of my favorite highlights of the year is the “Dance, Love, Pray” Easter workshop in Tuscany. For the 5th time this year - what a special number! - we travel to Le Pianore, a retreat center located in a valley in the foothills of the Monte Amiata volcano, to celebrate love and life. I am an integrator by nature, so my husband Martin contributes Trager bodywork in the mornings and I teach 5Rhythms in evening sessions.

Surrounded by beautiful nature and Italian culture, this special week immerses us in a holistic, embodied experience, deep relaxation, and heart-opening, inspiring encounters.

"In our own ways, we are all broken. Out of that brokenness, we hurt others. Forgiveness is the journey we take toward healing the broken parts. It is how we become whole again." -- Desmond Tutu

What I see. What I think. What I know.

What do I see?

Silver where there was black. Folds of flesh where there was taut muscle. A slowing down as time shortens.

What do I think?

Damn lucky to,have gone silver instead of gray. I should do Pilates or something so I can tighten up. Race faster to avoid the end.

What do I know?

My mother's silver essence. My grandmother's fleshy gravity. Generations stretching back and I the last of my line. An endangered species.

What I see:

Shapes and repetitions. Covering, cowering, halting, re-directing.

What I think:

Silly woman, your years wasted in fears.

What I know:

Generations stretching back. Shapes and repetitions. Survival dances, listening to the ground, flowing with earth smarts.

What I see, what I think, what I know.

An ever-evolving relationship with my older present, informed by the past particles of me, seeking compassion for the future.

This is where I've danced to in this Cycles practice (so far). I hope you can join me for Cycles, April 27 thru May 1, in Chicago, whether this is your first dive, or a return visit to the times of your life.
