Shadow and Light

 “Shadow and Light” is a 5Rhythms dance workshop designed to give you a deeper glimpse into the shadow map of the 5Rhythms.

5Rhythms® is a body practice rooted in the principle that when you move your body, your psyche will heal itself. The 5Rhythms are “Flow”, “Staccato”, “Chaos”, “Lyric” and “Silent”. These rhythms provide us with a movement map to the ecstatic field. When practiced, our bodies are grounded, our hearts are given space to express themselves, our minds are cleared and our true essence can emerge effortlessly.

What happens when our “Flow” gets stuck, or our “Staccato” gets too rigid or our “Chaos” gets too confusing? During this workshop, Albo and Bansi will guide you to deepen your understanding of the pure and the shadowy in the 5Rhythms.

This dance practice is done in the spirit and longing for a more integrated, whole and human experience.

Welcome!

Albo and Bansi: This will be the second time they have held a workshop together in Bergen. Albo's and Bansi's teaching style is playful and at the same time deep. They share the trust in the body's inherent wisdom to guide us in living a good life. They became 5R teachers at the same time in 2024 and have since collaborated on several projects. Albo has a long experience with men's work and dance in California and Bansi has long explored the intersection between meditation and ecstatic dance.
