The oldest 5Rhythms community in Australia, Melbourne is a must-dance destination for lovers of 5Rhythms.
Meredith Davies was the first teacher to start a weekly 5Rhythms class in Melbourne in 2003. Five years later Madhuma Thompson began a second weekly class and initiated a monthly Sweat Your Prayers, and now more than a decade later, with Meredith’s husband David Juriansz joining the teaching field, they have grown a huge dancing tribe. The weekly ‘Tuesday Tsunami Wave’ in North Fitzroy may be one of the biggest weekly 5R classes in the world ~ a pulsating, deep ride for over 150 dancers. With sometimes 6 classes a week, workshops with international teachers, 3 local teachers and more in training, Melbourne is a vibrant 5Rhythms dance community.

Residue from the lock-down... It feels like there’s a chronic lack of confidence in relating to each other. We’ve forgotten what it takes to connect.
Conscious dance has much to teach us about connection.
When I connect authentically to myself, feeling my aliveness, and what makes up my being, I’m more likely to be able to connect with another, my environment, and eventually with a group. Showing up authentically, just as I am, one moment to the next, and feeling at ease with being in relationship to others.
This two day 5Rhythms workshop will offer you embodiment exercises that encourage connection with yourself and others. If you’ve been wanting more connection in your life, but unsure how to get it, this workshop will offer you a safe space to move towards what you need. And it’s sure to be lots of fun.
