Compassion – an alchemical mixture made from our own blood, sweat, and tears.
Compassion – a homeo-empathic remedy for separation.
Compassion – a tincture for the hardened heart, medicine for the broken heart.
And
A poultice to draw out our fears of being compassionate, of being vulnerable, of being precious and temporary.
We’ll gather together to hold each other in giving the space for each of us to explore the tender dances of how we shy away from compassion, the raw dances of how we step back from compassion, the complicated dances of how we avoid our natural instinct to be compassionate. Towards others, and towards ourselves.
Creativity, imagination, artistry, ingenuity, inspiration~
Writing Waves is a one-day workshop combining dance and writing in the key of Lyrical on February 7, 2026, from 12-5pm.
Once upon a time, the Muses were goddesses who visited those who were both receptive and dligent to inspire them to create art forms including music, poetry, art, and dance. The human creator would receive a download, and would then have the sacred task of bringing it into being in the world.
In contemporary western culture, as individualism has become our operating system, we’ve switched from the idea of receiving the gifts of the universe to believing that we, personally and individually, are the source of our genius.
In this workshop, we’ll invite the Muses, along with their inspiration-gifting cultural counterparts like Dralas, Asparas, Faeries, and Feitian. We’ll clear the channel to receive their gifts, and invite ego to soften its grip so that rather than serving our individual ego, we can be in service to creative life force.
We’ll invite the teacher of each of the 5Rhythms – Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness – to guide us at different points during the day in both movement and in writing. Then, we’ll choose which of the five channels to tune ourselves to and allow the writing to unfold.
We’ll also have opportunities to share our writing, and will be invited to publish a final piece on the participant section of the NotesOnPractice.com website.
