~ what if Fear were a true-blue friend – pricking our skin in the presence of danger – holding us close and moving us from harm’s way and tucking us in tight and urging us to preserve the safety of what we hold most dear?

~ what if Anger were a sure fire sign that we still give a shit – that some things have gone too far – that we might be willing to make a move or draw a line or risk reaching out or stepping up or speaking true on behalf of what we love?

~ what if Sorrow were a shimmering, wavering thread – weaving us imperfectly, irrevocably, into the infinite fabric of lovers and losers and grievers, guiding us toward and through the soft-bellied mysteries of life and loss and renewal and time?

~ what if Joy were a gift – an amazement, a renewal, a moment’s miracle – as refreshing and unbidden as morning light gilding the grass, shared laughter releasing the tensions, a thunderstorm over thirsty land?

~ what if Compassion were simple, available, easy – not a big deal – an enlivened response to the moment, and to the ways that our people and our circles and our places need us – honest, connected, and full of heart?

We will move with these enquiries, held and guided by the dynamic maps of the 5Rhythms®, and from the perspective that emotional energies – the ones we are most comfortable with, as well as the ones we may have a tricky relationship with – are expressions of life-force, intelligence, and love.

And we will dance. Take Heart.

The 5Rhythms® is a powerful movement practice which guides participants to re-connect with their own innate body-knowledge, wellness, and wisdom. Each of the 5Rhythms – Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness – is a distinct field of energy-in-motion, and each one holds specific teachings. We know from experience that when we move our bodies, emotions naturally arise. In the Heartbeat™ map we use our movement practice to enliven, articulate, embody and befriend the intelligence, fluidity, and fullness of our own hearts.
